São Paulo, Brazil.

Authors: Raúl Alonso Estébanez & INTERURBANO

Proposal for a complex urban development in São Paulo, Brazil, based on environmental, economic and social sustainability. It leans on the idea of «super blocks» (Salvador Rueda), blocks with a dimension and a structure able to integrate urban compactness, complexity, efficiency and social cohesion.

Compact CityNeighbourhood: collaborative micro city integrated into the existing one. // Accessibility: Articulation with the urban fabric, green areas, and hydrography. // Mobility: avoids motorized displacements, limits vehicles access into the neighbourhoods

Complex City – Diversity of uses, typologies, habitats and public space morphology. // Urban Fabric: mixed-use to promote the integration of productive activity, housing and local development.

EfficiencyTransport: Connectivity. -Cyclist network, pedestrians and public transport.

Social cohesion – Provision of basic products and equipment. // Varied building solutions, accessible to different income groups.
